South Africans eager for the launch of a less expensive, revolutionary auto-injector

Breaking news in May 2018 was that a team of South African biomedical engineers have built a reusable, less expensive auto-injector that accepts epinephrine cartridge refills that could revolutionise the emergency treatment of anaphylaxis, a severe allergic reaction that can be triggered by food or insect bites.

Since then the engineers have been working hard to get this product launched in South Africa.  Please see below latest product update.

ZiBi Pen Product Update (25 January 2019)

We thank you for your interest in the ZiBi Pen, we are working very hard to get the product in your hands.

The ZiBi Pen is now going into a second phase of development and testing to make sure the device is both effective and safe for use for all ages and body types. Our current estimate timeline accounting for manufacturing and regulatory processes will have the product launching in the South African market in early 2021.

We thank you for your patience and hope you keep following our journey.

To assist us – we would appreciate it if you could take the time to complete our short survey.

Regards,

Impulse Biomedical Team
