We’re happy to announce that the winner of the Bola Awotedu Fellowship is: Dr Silindokuhle Qinisile Maphumulo.
Dr Silindokuhle Qinisile Maphumulo currently holds dual appointments as a Paediatrician and Senior lecturer currently at Pelonomi Tertiary and the University of Free State (UFS). Throughout her medical career, she has consistently demonstrated a strong interest in allergy and respiratory medicine. She has dedicated herself to the pursuit of knowledge and service delivery to impoverished communities, determined to leave a positive imprint wherever she goes.
About Bola Awotedu
Professor Abolade Awotedu was a respected pulmonologist who spent much of his life working in the Eastern Cape. He passed away on the 26th of July 2017. His family and friends have raised funds for this scholarship in his name, to allow young professionals from rural areas of the country to access training that will allow them to continue the types of educational and service programs that Prof Awotedu was so passionate about.
