Many people living with allergies ask whether their weight could be making their symptoms worse. While being overweight or obese does not directly cause allergies, research shows that excess weight can exacerbate existing allergic conditions such as asthma, allergic rhinitis (hay fever), eczema, and even food allergies. For decades, the Body Mass Index was the go to method for categorising weight status. BMI is a simple ratio of weight to height, but it has serious limitations.

Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria (CSU) is the medical term for chronic hives that last for 6 weeks or longer where there is no obvious external trigger such as cold, heat, water, stress, etc.
