MamaMagic Expo at the Dome in Joburg

Thanks to all who visited and participated at our stand at the MamaMagic expo in Joburg.  We had an awesome response and numerous requests for information and many questions were answered by our medical team of Dr Gloria Davis, Dr Tamara Jaye, Lindsay Archibald Durham, Sr Mariette Lambinon and Dr Marilee Kriel.  The Ticketpro Dome was once again filled with the excitement of 30 581 parents, parents-to-be and children attending the 44th edition of MamaMagic, The Baby Expo from the 17 – 20 May 2018. The exhibition now in its 14th year has been consistent in its delivery and has truly grounded itself as an essential platform in the parenting world.

Visitors to the expo were once again given the unique opportunity to fulfill all their parenting needs. by perusing the exhibition floor, which showcased everything any parent could need or want. The AFSA stand was right next to the Huggies Expert Lounge where we were educated by many interesting talks – the AFSA highlight was a talk by Dr Tamara Jaye who gave an amazing talk on Eczema. With all these and more excellent expo highlights, it is not surprising that visitors to the Joburg Winter expo walked away with so much more than they expected, including free allergy T-shirts and some great AFSA competition hampers! Thanks again to all our sponsors and AFSA approved products– Allerguard, Bennetts, Cetoderm, Cetaphil, Epy Derm, Thomas and the Trumpet, No Cheese Please, No Nuts for Bruno Please, Gluten Free Pond Please! by Mar Ribas Turon, Kuraflo, Mediband, Pure, Salex and Solenco.

Allergy Schools Workshop

We had a fantastic response to our Allergy Week ‘Cipla sponsored’ Schools Training Workshop on the 29th May 2018.  Cheré Botha School in Oak Glen kindly allowed us to host this event in their incredible new school hall and we are very grateful to all the Cheré Botha staff who assisted to make this event possible.  Dr Pieter de Waal facilitated the theory part of the workshop and Sr Heidi Facey-Thomas demonstrated the practical session.  All guests were treated to delicious food boxes from The Fat Fairy Kitchen and all received wonderful goodie bags which included some great surprises.

We have started planning our next educational workshop to reach out of all the southern Cape Town Schools – watch this space!  Find out more about our allergy in schools policy
